Vintage Herve Leger Dress |
This amazing 'body-con' dress is by French designer Herve Leger, and it has all the body hugging clinginess of an eighties dress down to a fine art! Most fashion designers are now recreating looks from the 1980's, but there's nothing like the original is there? And with this dress on, you will not bump into a copycat.
Just in case you didn't know, Herve Leger is a top Parisian designer who set up his company in 1985, designing super clingy, super short minidresses, superior in quality for body conscious women. If you like Azzedine Alaia, Marios Schwab and Christopher Kane then you will love his style.
Vintage Herve Leger dresses are becoming more and more desirable since the head designer himself no longer designs the dresses (the company was acquired by US designer BCBG Max Azria), and the original dresses are said to be superior in quality to the modern versions.
Herve Leger dresses are worn by all the top Hollywood actresses/superstars such as Lindsay Lohan, Sharon Stone, Catherine Zeta-Jones, Charlize Theron, Beyonce Knowles, Christina Aguilera, Janet Jackson, Eva Longoria, Eva Mendes, Jessica Simpson etc.

This particular dress is rather sixties like in style with the sporty stripes. The fabric is a very thick, heavy weight material made of 90% viscose and 10% lycra - it is not the easiest to squeeze into, but once the dress is on it sucks everything in. In fact it actually has a very slimming effect!
The dress is labelled as a size 'S', and even though the dress is vintage I would say that the sizing is true as it fitted my size 10 mannequin perfectly... it would also fit a size 8. The measurements are as follows: waist 26 inches, armpit to armpit 31 inches and the hips measure 30 inches. Please bear in mind that these measurements are for the fabric unstretched.

It
has
been
made
in
France,
dry
cleaning
is
recommended
and
the
length
of
the
dress
(from
the
top
of
the
back
zip
fastening
to
the
bottom
hem)
is
29
inches.

5"9-5"10,
so
the
dress
will
be
slightly
longer
on
most
people.
